Tempo blocks Instagram, TikTok, YouTube. Your active minutes open them back up. You set the exchange rate.
Global average: 18 h 36 a week on social and video feeds — over 2 h 30 a day (GWI, cited in DataReportal's Digital 2026 Global Overview, October 2025).
You pick the apps that steal your days. Tempo shuts them.
Walk, run, gym. Your phone counts, the clock runs on its own.
24 minutes of activity, 24 minutes of screen. Open, and earned.
Do the math
Counted by your phone, or by your watch if you wear one.
Over a month, at 35 min of activity a day
Projected from a starting screen time of 2 h 30 a day and a goal of 35 minutes of daily activity, at an exchange rate of ×1.
What we get asked
Your phone already counts your activity — Tempo reads those minutes, nothing to enter by hand. If you wear a watch, it takes over. Otherwise Tempo counts your steps: 1,000 steps are worth 10 minutes of walking.
Your phone shuts the apps on its own, even with Tempo closed. The system holds the lock, not us — there's nothing to work around.
The ones you name, as many as you like, categories included. Most people pick three.
